37歲才開始學英文的李冰冰，2011年登上美國脫口秀「The View」時，發音和詞彙還不夠準確，但近年英語水準穩步上升，在聯合國氣候大會上做了演講，也在「變形金剛4」裡面有不少台詞。
另外，早年以一句「thank you」走天下的章子怡，近年英語水準也在不斷進步。
兩年前，章子怡為電影「一代宗師」做海外宣傳時，曾在採訪時機靈地把「love at first sight（一見鐘情）」，說成雙關語「love at first fight（一打鐘情）」，引得外國記者呵呵大笑。
不過，周思成認為章子怡的英語還存在很大的上升空間，「發音太像讀拼音了，基礎的陳述句型沒有問題，但是特別複雜的句型就會把自己繞進去，這方面還可以改進。」
范冰冰在法國坎城影展造型一年比一年霸氣，但英文也一直未見有太大進步。
她在某國際品牌晚宴上，說了幾句死記硬背的蹩腳英文後，還會加上一句，「這是我會說的所有英文了，下面我要開始說中文了。」
范爺曾這樣評價自己的英文水準：「我覺得很一般，很沒臉見人」，「我是個壓力越大，動力越大的人，可能拍一部真正的外語片會讓我的英語一下子變很棒吧。」1040615
